Product Description
Radiator valves have been around far longer than you may think. Valves would have been used on the first steam engines, the earliest of which was patented in 1606 being used on a steam powered water pump. But any steam powered machine will require a water flow regulator or valve to control the water or steam input/output.
The principal of valve technology has changed very little since. Valves were used on traction engines, pumps, steam locomotives and so on. By the mid Victorian period, technology had moved on very little regarding valves, but the introduction of cast iron radiators were an ideal application for them. In America, cast iron radiators were introduced into municipal buildings and heated by steam. France and Britain soon caught on to the technology with radiators being shown at the Paris Expo of 1889.
